Geodev started as a small script to answer one question: is our API actually slow, or does it just feel that way from one particular office connection? It grew into a standalone collector because most existing uptime tools either cost more than the problem was worth or buried the timing breakdown behind a dashboard login.

The project isn't trying to compete with full observability platforms. It does one thing — scheduled latency probes with a plain timing breakdown — and tries to stay out of the way otherwise.
